I hear through the grapevine that mortgage brokers have been charging a lot of fees of front to modify people’s loans even if they fail to improve their mortgage. The FHA Mortgage Loan Company offer free foreclosure prevention advice and we have helped several borrowers qualify for the FHASecure. We have referred a few homeowners to local counsel for possible loan modifications but we hear that it is taking 3 months to start the discussions with the Loss and Mitigation departments.
