Any applicant who is rejected will receive from Lenders Nationwide a written statement of the specific reason for rejection of the applicant’s application for credit. Lenders Nationwide shall use its best efforts to ensure that all phases of the credit process are fair and nondiscriminatory. Lenders Nationwide and its employees shall comply with all applicable federal fair lending and equal credit opportunity laws and regulations.     Refrain from engaging in any intentionally deceptive or misleading business practices; to provide to borrowers and prospective borrowers clear, accurate and timely disclosures of the terms, costs and contractual obligations of credit transactions; and to promptly process loan applications, advise borrowers of their decisions and to complete credit transactions.

    Evaluate the borrower’s ability to repay the credit obligation when deciding whether or not to extend credit and not to engage in the business of making loans for the sole purpose of acquiring the property offered as security for the proposed loan.

    Lenders Nationwide will; use its best efforts to inform and educate borrowers and prospective borrowers about the lending process, especially the obligations, potential risks and other factors they should consider when determining whether to obtain additional credit.

    Lenders Nationwide will; use its best efforts to encourage borrowers or potential borrowers to use credit responsibly and to seek advice from independent financial advisors, including, when appropriate, those who focus on helping senior citizens and other potentially vulnerable individuals; regarding the advisability of obtaining a home equity loan before securing such a loan.
